Who are the real competitors for the amazon kindle? There are plenty of companies who now have their own e-book readers ready for release or actually on the market, but which of them could mount a serious challenge to Amazon’s current dominance? Amazon have 60% of the market, Sony are in second place and, although they are a long way back, they still have a very respectable 35% of the market share. On that basis alone, even omitting the fact that there new Sony Daily Edition reader looks to be a very nice reader, they must be considered as a threat.
