Importance of the Obama Program When You Are Looking for Help with Foreclosure

By admin | November 17, 2009

Help with foreclosure is available through the plan of President Barack Obama if foreclosure proceedings have not yet been initiated. The program, which is supported by the Helping Families Save Their Homes Act, offers incentives to banks and lenders for every loan modification or refinancing that they approve. The ultimate goal of refinancing or modification is to reduce the monthly installments to make them more affordable. Specifically, the loan modification is expected to ensure that the monthly payments will not exceed 31 percent of the monthly income of the borrower. Thus, a homeowner may avoid getting into the foreclosure trap because the payments would be easier on the budget.
