More active and footloose life styles

By admin | March 12, 2010

The seminaries were very much in counterpoint to the more active and footloose life styles of the universities.   There was a very much greater vehemence was placed on personalized correction as well as the teaching of philosophy to groom for theology.  Protestant social reformers of the day scorned this overture.Other Christian denominations, including advancing American Judaism, have since embraced and modified the Tridentine example of the seminary.  These seminaries are more active than the Tridentine and frequently do not incorporate the Catholic insistence on the required study of doctrine and the requirement to live on campus within the Christian community of the seminary schools.
