Staying Sane on Family Road Trips

My husband and I have a large family. We have 6 children and we love to take a vacation every summer. We drive everywhere we go, we could never afford train or plane tickets for 8 people! I’ve gotten pretty good at keeping the children occupied while in the car for hours or sometimes even days. Each child gets their own bag and they get to choose what goes into them. The younger kids always fill theirs with kids toys, and the older ones pack writing materials, books, and video games. We also have a portable DVD player that mounts in the van.
